The Star Theatre

The Star Theatre is rich with history, dating back to 1911 when it was originally built as a Opera House.

The new owners were looking for a permanent venue for their Country Music Jamboree Show, which had been playing at theaters in Chambersburg and Gettysburg, PA., After extensive renovation which included air conditioning, carpeting, state of the art light and sound equipment, and having the 292 seats refinished, the Star Theater was open for business.

Besides being the permanent home of the Pennsylvania Opry, The Star Theatre still brings current hit movies to their big screen every weekend. A great place to take the kids if you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of the mall theatres.
